Welcome to the Herb Jangor Memorial Scholarship website, a platform dedicated to celebrating the life and achievements of Herb Jangor, a passionate, fiery, yet lovable friend, coach, and mentor. Herb's unwavering dedication to teaching and coaching touched the lives of many, and this scholarship fund stands as a testament to his enduring legacy. Here, we honor his memory by providing deserving individuals with the opportunity to pursue their academic, life and athletic dreams.

Remembering Herb:
The man, the myth, the legend was an exceptional individual, known for his infectious passion, loyalty and unwavering commitment.  He loved to golf, loved to BBQ, and liked to go fishing. He was a member of the Chisago Lakes Lions, on the Huddle Team and Peer Coach with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, was on the parking crew at Eagle Brook Church in Lino Lakes, and was a Phy Ed teacher and a local coach with numerous sports teams.

His spirit fueled his love for education and athletics, creating an environment where students and players thrived not only in their chosen fields, but also as individuals. Herb's dedication to guiding and nurturing others left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to have closely known him. 

 

A Coach, Teacher, Friend and Mentor:

Herb's coaching prowess and mentorship were fueled by his love of competition and intense spirit. He approached every practice, every game, and every interaction with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired those around him. Herb's coaching style was marked by his booming voice, intensity (including some passionate suit jacket tosses) and ability to motivate others to reach their full potential. Under his guidance, players not only honed their athletic skills but also developed a deep sense of admiration and respect for their coach, who pushed them to achieve greatness. He also loved his post game chats with his staff, friends, family, fans and even an occasional referee!  :o

To honor Herb's memory and carry forward his dedication to education and athletics, we have established the Herb Jangor Scholarship Fund. This fund aims to provide deserving students with the means to pursue their academic and athletic aspirations. By offering financial assistance, we strive to empower individuals to unlock their full potential, just as Herb did throughout his life.
